home grown timber

When planning the lodge we were very keen to incorporate timber and stone from the farm. Timber for the external cladding and some of the internal detail was sourced from woodland less than 400m from the property. Six mature Douglas Fir trees were carefully selected and milled by a local contractor who brought in a mobile sawmill. The boards were then stacked and seasoned for 2 years prior to the build.
